Bessheim
Bessheim Mountain Lodge and Cabins is located 967 meters above sea level near Øvre Sjodalsvatnet lake and close to county road 51 over Valdresflya mountain plateau. Besseggen ridge and Jotunheimen are our closest neighbours. It is 35 km to the village of Beitostølen and 75 km to the municipality of Lom or the village of Otta. When the road over Valdresflya is closed from approx. 15 December to 15 April each year, you have to take European Route 6 (E6) via Lillehammer and Sjoa to reach us. The roads here are ploughed all winter.
Here at Bessheim, we rent out 27 rooms and 26 cabins, and we have a total of 170 beds. Most of the rooms and cabins have their own shower and toilet. The cabins are equipped with a kitchen.
We emphasise serving good, home-cooked food, and have for several years been part of a collaboration with famous Norwegian chef Arne Brimi, called Opplæringskontoret Brimikjøken (“the Brimi Kitchen Training Office”).

Spiterstulen
Spiterstulen Turisthytte is a privately owned mountain lodge located in the lovely Visdalen valley between Norways’s two highest mountains, Galdhøpiggen and Glittertind. It is a fantastic place for ski touring/back country skiing: with Spiterstulen as a base you can climb seventeen of the highest mountains in Norway.
Spiterstulen was originally a place for summer pasture farming under the Nigard Sulheim farm. The mountains provided green pastures and nutritious grazing for the farm animals; for the Sulheim family the summer was a busy season with milking, butter production and cheese making from dawn to dusk. Spiterstulen slowly and gradually transformed into a tourism business with summer farming ending in 1968.
Spiterstulen offers accommodation in a wide range of rooms located in seven different buildings, large and small. Around 15 rooms have an ensuite bathroom. The common areas are spacious with large windows and an open fireplace. We have a big terrace perfect for those sunny spring afternoons. We serve dinner and breakfast and a range of alchoholic and non-alchoholic beverages. Snacks and chocolate are for sale in the reception.
